A 19-year-old boy has been jailed 20years for his alleged involvement in a robbery case.
The Ghana Police Service announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the convict, Adams Hamidu, alias Gyida has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment with hard labour for robbing his victim of a blue Honda motorbike valued at GHC 20,000, a Tecno mobile phone valued at GHC 1,300, and cash amounting to GHC 10,800.
Officials stated that the Upper West Regional Police Command secured the conviction against Adams Gyida.
Background
The police said ‘In February 2025, Gyida and another masked individual robbed a victim of a blue Honda motorbike valued at GHC 20,000, a Tecno mobile phone valued at GHC 1,300, and cash amounting to GHC 10,800.
Through intelligence-led operations, Gyida was arrested on June 1, 2025, at Domowa, in the Wa-West District’.
The service maintained that ‘This conviction is a testament to the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting the community and upholding the law’.
