A Ghanaian fan has lost his house after betting on the Ghana -Benin game in the on-going 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt .
John Mensah, who has three wives and five children, made a bet with his Egyptian friend that the senior national soccer team of Ghana would beat Benin by 3 goals to nothing in their opening game.
Instead, Ghana drew 2:2 to Benin in the Group F game which came off at the Ismailia Stadium.
Sister of John Menash, Abena Oforiwaa told Kasatintin.com in an interview that her brother put his family home (two storey building) and his brand new salon car on the line in the betting.
Abena Oforiwaa said ‘He also added his three beautiful wives and agreed on a signed document that his friend could choose and live with one of them for a period of 12 months and 1 day should he (John) lose the bet’.
It has emerged that John Mensah sacrificed all those valuables to prove his love for the country, Ghana.
John is reported to be often saying that ‘It has been 37 years since the Black Stars won the AFCON. I am super-confident they will do wonders this year’.
‘Agreement is an agreement’, Oforiwaa indicated ‘My brother is in fact, out of the country but has ordered me to process everything in relation to the bet with his friend. The wager was put into writing. I’ll go by it’.
A very gossipy source however told Kasatintin.com that John Mensah has fallen into comma following the bizzare outcome of the game and the bet he placed on Tuesday.
