Most people didn’t clearly understand it when news went round in March this year that Ghanaian prophet, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah and his ‘heavily built’ bodyguards had st0rmed the premises of Accra-based Radio XYZ to give a strong warning to one of the station’s top presenters, ‘Mugabe’ Salifu Maase.
Reverend Owusu Bempah was widely criticised for the barbaric manner in which he and his ‘commandos’ ‘banged into’ the radio station to cause commotion.
Journalists in the country face constant attacks each day. The United Press for Development Network (UPDN) has ‘accused government officials, the police and political party partisans for the numerous attacks against journalists throughout 2018.’
In the view of UPDN, ‘Impunity for crimes against journalists has literally become the order of the day. Despite the several reported incidents of violations against journalists, punishment of perpetrators has been very rare, if any at all.’
My anu$ is itching right now due to this startling revelation. Reverend Owusu appears not to be ashamed of the child!sh things he and his yes men did at Radio XYZ.
The controversial Ghanaian prophet justified his backward action claiming the station’s leading political talk show host, ‘Mugabe’ Salifu Maase had described him as a ‘p!g’ and also accused him of bleaching his skin.
Why would a man consider bleaching his skin anyway? Research has shown that men who do skin bleaching tend to have a condition known as Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder.
Such people often think that they are always right whiles everyone else is wrong in all circumstances. And if they make a mistake, they assume other people should fix it, without them experiencing any consequences.
Being called a ‘p!g’ is relatively better than having an Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder condition. Studies have shown that pigs are as smart as a three-year-old baby.
Pigs are also able to respond to their own names, and can be taught a lot of tricks just as humans. Pigs are very smart. They can even be toilet-trained. Yes, pigs are extremely clean animals, despite their reputation. When given sufficient space they will not soil where they sleep.
One more thing about pigs is they are largely sociable animals. They bond well with other animals including, cows, sheep and dogs.
Did Mugabe do anything wrong by describing ‘too-knowing’ Owusu Bempah as a p!g?
Strictly speaking, the ‘f!ght’ between Reverend Owusu Bempah and Mugabe has no basis. It may take about 100 years for them to make peace since the cause of the ‘battle’ can be attributed to what some people term ‘the usual d!rty Ghanaian partisan politics.’
Mugabe is a hard core member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) whiles Reverend Owusu Bempah is a ‘disguised’ member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
So, you don’t need to think outside the box to know why they both despise each other like a smelly mouth and k!ssing.
Reverend Owusu Bempah feels that Mugabe has used his biased political programme to damage his hard-won reputation and also run down the achievements of the NPP.
Reverend Owusu Bempah is obviously protecting the two solid places he eats from- the pulpit and politics.
Mugabe is also a jealous fellow. What is his beef if the man of God wants to eat with both hands?
This could be the reason why the Glorious Word and Power Ministry leader probably sees nothing wrong with his unannounced presence at Radio XYZ to call the radio presenter (Mugabe) to order.

All jokes aside, Mugabe should learn to respect Reverend Owusu Bempah as a true man of God, not Satan. Some jokes can be very expensive especially when it bothers on a person’s reputation. Mugabe should watch his big mouth.
Reverend Owusu Bempah could be the next president of Ghana. He has started on a good note by f!ght!ng Mugabe on unnecessary issues. Na so Ghana politics dey.
Ghana politics is also not for the weak. It’s for those who can make the loudest noise and !nsult best.
Reverend Owusu Bempah spoke in an interview with Bola Ray on the Starr Chat show on Wednesday 21st August, 2019. He recounted what pushed him to att¿âck Radio XYZ some months ago.
Reverend Owusu Bempah expressed his displeasure at the way Mugabe targeted him and consistently !nsulted him on his radio programme – all in the name of dirty politics.
The reality is that Reverend Owusu Bempah is a very handsome old man. From head to toe, everything is on point. The man of God will definitely emerged as the winner should he participate in any beauty pageant.
Yet, beauty, they say lies in the eyes of the beholder. Mugabe may be seeing something different which is critical for another discussion someday.
