Men are bigger gossips than women, according to a new research Kasatintin.com has sighted.
The study which was conducted by global research company Onepoll.com found that on the average, men spend 76 minutes a day gossiping with their friends or work colleagues, compared to just 52 minutes for women.
The study suggested that men have favourite topics they chat about which include the antics of drunken friends, old school friends, and the most attractive girl at work.
It added that men also enjoyed talking about politics, rumours about possible relationships in the office or the boss, promotions, sex well as salaries.
Women, on the other hand were more likely to complain about other women, other people’s sex lives or their own friend’s weight gain.
They also love to discuss soap operas and controversial news about their favourite celebrities. And wait… for women any type of relationship is up for discussion – whether it is their own, their friends, their friends’ friends or even their bond with their mother-in-law.
More than half of women admit they regularly discussed the ins and outs of their private lives with their friends.
The study pronounced that men’s discussions are more often influenced by what is happening at work but women were more inclined to take note of celebrity lifestyles, soap gossip and other people.
UK-based Onepoll surveyed 5000 people and cited the office as the preferred place for men to exchange hot gossip, whereas women preferred to confide in their friends from their own home.
What at all do men gain from gossiping?
Onepoll’s research revealed that one-third of men are happiest when chatting with work colleagues, whiles 58 per cent admit that being a gossip makes them feel ‘part of the ganɠ’.
That’s not all, 31 per cent of men responded that having a gossip with their partner is actually better than sexual relations.
‘It is commonly believed that women are the ones who love to spread rumours, and gossip about their friends behind their backs’, a spokesman for Onepoll said explaining further that:
‘This poll proves that men aren’t as bad as women, they’re worse! Men just love a bit of scandal, and will do anything they can to be centre of attention with their colleagues and peers.
‘At the end of the day, hot gossip spices up what would otherwise be another boring day at the office.’
The study concluded that ‘Although they discuss very different things during their gossiping sessions, men and women agree on one thing – talking with mates, work colleagues or partners makes them feel like they belong.’
