Due to panic buying ‘Retailers in the US and Canada have started limiting the number of toilet paper packs customers can buy in one trip’, reports CNN.

Residents are calling 911 because they have run out of toilet paper.

The Newport Police Department have had to put out a notice on Facebook to urge residents to stop making emergency calls due to a toilet paper shortage.

The police wrote:

‘It’s hard to believe that we even have to post this. Do not call 9-1-1 just because you ran out of toilet paper. You will survive without our assistance’.

Toilet paper obviously does not offer special protection against the deadly virus. Incidentally, it has become a need like milk and bread in this time WHO has declared coronavirus a pandemic.

The toilet paper problem is not unique to US and Canada- a similar situation exists places worse-affected by the virus such as UK, Australia, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong.

A report sighted by Kasatintin.com said ‘Some supermarkets in the UK are sold out. Grocery stores in Australia have hired security guards to patrol customers’.
