Former President Jerry John Rawlings has been spotted with a new look – bushy grey hair and beard.

That unusual look has got netizens talking. Comments received so far suggest that people are generally in love with the new look of the former Head of State.

Those who have watched videos and seen the recent photos of Rawlings claim the ‘Moses hair’ and long beard made him look like renowned Nigerian playwright Wole Sonyinka, deepening the suspension that the two may be twins.

Rawlings made his first public appearance – since the outbreak of coronavirus in the country – on Thursday.

He actually stepped out to address Ghanaians at the 41st anniversary of the June 4, 1979 uprising.

But trending news around Rawlings’ new identity seem to have drowned all the important statements he made at this august event.

Rawlings, who is also affectionately called ‘Dr Boom’ threw in this to explain the reason behind his new look:

‘Those of you who are wondering about this Moses brush…since the President [Nana Akufo-Addo] has decided he would use his shaven head to get rid of Covid-19, I will use this Moses brush to get rid of it, and when it happens I say we can go back to our normal lives’.

We can agree with ‘Dr Boom’ to some extent. In keeping with the social distancing protocols associated with the coronavirus pandemic, many have decided to stay away from the barbering saloons.
