A man who attempted to engage in multiple voting at a polling station in Odododiodio constituency of the Greater Accra Region has been arrested.
Reports say he was caught with an additional ballot paper when he entered the booth to cast his vote Monday afternoon.
It is an offence for an electorate to twice in the ongoing presidential and parliamentary elections.
Polls officially opened at 7.00am in 33,367 polling centres across the country.
Scores of people turned up at the polls as early as 10.00pm to queue. Some secured their spot in the queue with chairs, stones, buckets, chamber pots and other items.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that they expect a total of 17,027,641 valid voters today. It also looks forward to declare the results of the polls within 24 hours.
