Akufo-Addo Should Step Down On Health Grounds –Pollster Ben Ephson Gives Interesting Details

Pollster Ben Ephson has urged Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to step down as President in 2023 to enhance the chances of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 presidential election.

The NPP is faced with a heavy decision on who to select as their next presidential candidate when Akufo-Addo ends his second term in office in 2024.

The race is between President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Alan Kyeremanten, Trade and Industry Minister.

Ben Ephson observed in a media Interview that:

‘Ashantis will not vote if Bawumia wins the primaries. Also, if Kyeremanten wins, the people of the North will also not vote. They will trigger the perception that NPP uses the North and dump them like they did to Alhaji Aliu Mahama’.

He stated that the NPP will suffer a huge challenge should there be an open contest between Alan Kyeremanten and Bawumia.

Ben Ephson therefore advised the party to take steps to address the disaffection and disunity likely to characterise the primaries.

He said ‘there is only one possibility for consensus-building on a decision on who replaces Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
