The private life of actress cum television host Nana Ama McBrown and her husband Maxwell Mensah has been under public scrutiny for years now.

Reports claim that the celebrity couple have broken up after slay queen Mona Gucci accused Maxwell of cheating on his wife with her best friend and given birth outside marriage.

Ghanaian songstress Mzbel also subjected the couple to public ridicule when she claimed that McBrown’s husband promised to marry her some years ago.

Mzbel explained that ‘he (Maxwell) wanted to marry me but I said no… we never had s3x but we were very close friends. He was like my cuddling kind of friend…So he got someone he wanted to get married to, and now he’s married and happy, and I am happy for them’.

Nana Ama McBrown also dated Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame for some time before each moved on and settled with their current partners. The UTV presenter and Okyeame Kwame were the biggest celebrity couple in the 90s. The entertainment tabloids made a lot of cash telling stories about their love affair. That’s her past anyway—everyone has one.

Believe it or not, nothing can separate the love of McBrown and Maxwell–it is inexplicable!

Their affection for each other possibly grew when they were involved a tragic car accident along the George Walker Bush Highway in Accra on Friday January 30, 2013 at about 1.00am.

Maxwell Mensah, then McBrown’s boyfriend was driving the Range Rover which skidded off the road on their return from a music video shoot with Hiplife group Praye.

Maxwell did not sustain any serious injuries. He was treated and discharged on the same day. However, McBrown had fracture in her right arm and stayed in the hospital for more than two weeks.

The actress has had two surgeries and is expecting to go through a third one.

‘I’m still in pain because I can’t hold a bucket of water and it has affected my work because I have decided not to do some roles because of the hand’, she said in a media interview.
