Nana Ama Mcbrown is a talented Ghanaian actress born to Cecilia Agyenim and Kwabena Nkrumah in Kumasi on the 15th of August , 1977.
Her original name is Felicity Ama Agyemang. She got the name Mcbrown from her adopted father, Kofi Mcbrown who took care of her and her other six(6) siblings after her parents got divorced.
McBrown had her early education at St. Peter’s International Residential School and later attended Minnesota International School and then Central International School.
She continued her education at Kwadaso L.A J.S.S but dropped out along the way. As result, she could not sit for Basic Education Certificate Exams (BECE).
Nana Ama McBrown proceeded to the College of Business and obtained a Secretarial Certificate.
On her acting career, Nana Ama McBrown started as a costumier at Miracle Films. Director Samuel Nyamekye discovered her and cast her in a new movie titled ‘That Day’.
Nana Ama McBrown has won several awards in the Ghanaian movie industry which include ‘Best/English Actress’, ‘Best Actress in leading role’, and ‘Best Story at the 2011 Kumawood Awards’.
In the year 2020, she was honoured by Ghana Outstanding Women Award (GOWA) as the Outstanding Women Brand Influencer.
Currently, McBrown is the brand ambassador for Royal Drinks, a soft drink made in Ghana.
She is also the host of two popular television shows, Mcbrown’s Kitchen and United Showbiz aired on Accra-based UTV.
McBrown dated Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame and were the most talk about celebrity couple in 2004.
She later married her long time boyfriend Maxwell Mawuli Mensah. They are blessed with a child named Baby Maxin.
