Nana Ama McBrown on Thursday begged for clemency for actress Akuapem Poloo who was facing trial at the Accra Circuit Court for posting naked photo of herself to celebrate her son’s seventh birthday.
Appearing in court on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 Akuapem Poloo pleaded guilty to all three charges put before her.
Media reports captured her charges as follows:
1. Publication of obscene materials;
2. Engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity and
3.Engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detracts or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.
Top Ghanaian lawyer described Akuapem Poloo’s case as a misdemeanour as such ‘she could go in for a maximum of three years’.
On the contrary, Poloo was handed a 3-month-prison sentence by the judge on Friday, April 16, 2021.
Ahead of the sentencing, Nana Ama McBrown appealed to the court to be soft on her colleague.
In an IG post sighted by Kasatintin.com, McBrown shared a photo of Akuapem Poloo and her son with the caption: We can only PLEAD but remember our little one in prayer to God to LEAD #Sad@akuapem_poloo #ItIsWell 🙏#BRIMM
