A Chief has been dragged before a circuit court in the Eastern Region for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 15-year-old girl.
The accused, 65 was arrested by Begoro Police after parents of the victim filed a formal complaint upon observing strange physical changes and symptoms of pregnancy on the teenage girl.
The girl’s parents claimed that, in February this year, the accused who usually calls the victim ‘my wife’ sent someone to call her for an errand but allegedly took advantage and had sexual intercourse with her.
He also made love to her another time the same month.
Doctor’s report showed ‘Pregnancy has been confirmed with a urine pregnancy test. Abnormal examination reveals palpable uterus up to umbilicus which is mildly tender’.
The Chief admitted inviting the victim to his house twice to give her money but denied ever sleeping her.
He has been charged with the offence of defilement.
He has also been granted bail and expected back in court on July 26, 2021.
