Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has been spotted in a photo on social media praying in the Wailing Wall of Jerusalem in Israel.
The Wall is considered the holiest place where Jews are permitted to pray, and it forms the foundation of the Jewish faith. But it is now opened to pilgrims.
The Wailing Wall, where President Akufo-Addo is allegedly caught seeking divine powers for his government and breakthrough for the economy, has a historical connection in Christianity.
The Old Testament book of Nehemiah vividly narrates how God instructed Nehemiah to build a wall around Jerusalem to protect its citizens from enemy attack.
Nehemiah completed that massive project in record time — just 52 days.
Similarly, Akufo-Addo, despite stiff opposition, has also set his mind to build a classic National Cathedral to honour God.
The poor citizens have been asked to donate at least Ghc100 each to support the project.
Some netizens have criticised the President for not using any of the prayer camps in Ghana such as Atwea Mountains and Achimota Forest.
Others however contended that Jerusalem is a city of God, hence Ghana will be favoured as Akufo-Addo prays there.
A lot of Ghanaians have expressed their views on the viral photo featuring President Akufo-Addo praying in Jerusalem.
Kasatintin.com can report that President Nana Akufo-Addo made the holy trip to Jerusalem in 2011, and not 2021 as being rumoured on the web.
Akufo-Addo was then the NPP presidential candidate for the 2012 elections.
Daily Guide newspaper reported that:
‘Last November, during one of Nana Akufo-Addo’s two trips to the Holy City of Jerusalem, for prayers, a pilgrim, who only identified himself as Joseph Mensah of Tel Aviv, took this priceless picture of the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate praying by the Wailing Wall of Jerusalem and emailed it to us.
DAILY GUIDE can report that Nana Akufo-Addo has been quietly sneaking in and out of Jerusalem for spiritual support and guidance for the crucial December polls. As the NPP campaign mini-billboard message says, “The Battle is the Lord’s”.
The NPP man has certainly fortified himself for this battle’.
