Tech giant Google is giving an additional cash bonus of $1,600, or its equivalent to all of its employees worldwide this December.
According to Reuters report published on Thursday, the dole out is a support measure by the company for its global workforce amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Interns and members of Google’s extended workforce are eligible for the cash bonus too.
The search giant is expected to disburse the money by the end of the year.
Microsoft and Amazon have also embark on similar move to promote employee well-being during the pandemic.
Microsoft is providing a $1,500 pandemic bonus to workers, while Amazon has added a new mental health benefit for all US employees and their families.
In other news, a suspected Nigerian ritualist has turned two senior secondary school students into tubers of yam.
The victims attended Bashorun High School in Oyo State, Nigeria.
According to information, the alleged ritualist, a middle-aged man used an old trick of dropping money on the ground which the young students reportedly picked and immediately turned into two tubers of yam.
