A family of five have perished in an accident at Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region while returning from a watch night service Saturday dawn.
The incident involved a man and his wife and three children.
Reports said the family was crushed to death after the saloon car they were travelling in collided head-on with an articulator truck.
Witnesses claimed that they wrongly overtook a truck which caused the accident.
The front side of the family vehicle with registration number WR-28-48 got trapped under the truck for hours.
An emergency rescue team from the fire,police and ambulance service rushed in to remove the trapped bodies.
In a separate incident, four children have been burnt to death after their mother locked them up in a room and attended an all-night church prayer service.
The children aged 7, 8, 12 and 15 were burnt to death after a building they were sleeping in caught fire at night.
