Public sector workers in Ghana will be paid earlier in January 2022.
This will likely happen if the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) sticks to its timetable.
A statement from CAGD indicated that the first pay for the year will be done on January 21, 2022.
It observed that ‘the year 2022 Salaries and Wages of Civil Servants, the Ghana Education Service (GES) and all other Public Servant paid by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) will be paid on the dates indicated below’.
Per the new schedule announced, the 2022 salaries and wages for government workers will be paid on January 21, February 25, March 25 and April 26.
Payments for the next quarter will also be done as follows: May 26, June 24, July 26 and August 26, 2022.
CAGD seeks to make the last quarter payments on September 27, October 25, November 25 and December 19, 2022 respectively.
It noted that ‘The various banks will start crediting the accounts of employees from the dates indicated above. Any change in the above dates will be communicated to the Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Assemblies and respective Banks’.
