A fuel tanker has exploded at Kaase Industrial Area in the Ashanti Region on Friday afternoon.
‘Preliminary investigations show that a tricycle was syphoning fuel from a tanker into gallons and in the process, the tricycle caught fire and attempts to quench it were unsuccessful. It spread to the tanker’ and then to the structures around, threatening the factory nearby, fire officers said.
The fire which started about 1.00pm swept through many makeshift structures which belongs to squatters.
The Ghana National Fire Service received a distress call at 1.20pm and dispatched three fire tenders who upon arrival put out the fire early enough to stop it from causing further devastation.
The Kaasi fuel tanker explosion is happening bearly 24 hours after a similar incident at Bogoso which has wiped out an entire community, killed many and caused various degrees of injuries to several others.
Looking at these strange events which have happened in the country within a short period, we think Ghana needs some spiritual cleansing this time, to be performed by any spiritually-strong religious leader.
