A man believed to be in his late 30s has died after participating in a drinking competition on Sunday morning at a popular joint in Tamale.
The competition was organized by drunkards association in the area.
The deceased, only identified as ‘Jah Lov’ is a habitual drunkard who jumps from one drinking spot to the other.
Jah Lov suddenly collapsed just after he finished drinking three gallons of ‘Akpeteshie’, a locally brewed gin.
He was rushed to the hospital for treatment and discharged the same day.
His condition however began to fail again Monday morning which prompted his family to send him back to the hospital.

A family source said Jah Lov responded to treatment whiles on admission until about 1pm when he passed away.
