Today, February 14, 2022 is exactly 18years Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia married Samira.
‘Happy 18th Wedding Anniversary, Sweetheart ❤️❤️❤️’, Second Lady Samira Bawumia celebrated hubby in a lovely tweet on Monday.
The couple have four children–3 boys and a girl.
Samira Bawumia, well educated is reported to be the second wife of Ghana’s Vice President as there appears to be a first wife called Ramatu.
Ramatu is a trader based in WaleWale in the North East Region of Ghana, reports alleged.
She hit the headlines a year ago during the second term swearing- in of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on January 7, 2021.
Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin while introducing the guests at the event held at the Parliament House mistakenly referred to Ramatu as the wife of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
‘Oh this is the name I was given’, he subsequently corrected himself and properly introduced Mrs Samira Bawumia.
On Friday, March 12, 2021 the Office of the Vice President issued a statement insisting Dr Bawumia has only one wife–Samira.
The statement stressed that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has ‘never met or seen this purported Ramatu let alone take her as a wife’.
It further urged the public to ‘ignore the propaganda and deliberate falsehood’.
