The Ghana Police Service have invited the governing New Patriotic Party communicator popularly known as Abronye DC for questioning.
Abronye has up to 4pm today (February 15) to report himself to the police.
According police statement, their attention have been drawn to a publication in which the NPP stalwart have been cited to have suggested that former President John Dramani Mahama is allegedly planning to stage a coup d’etat in Ghana.
Abronye reportedly made the claim while speaking on a radio programme in Accra on the arrest of #FixTheCountry convenor, Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor.
The police have invited him to assist them with investigations on his claim and wild reports that John Mahama had secretly met with Al-Qaeda militants to engage them on how to overthrow the governing party in a bid to become president again.
Therefore, ‘The Accra Regional Command has invited Kwame Baffoe to report to the Regional Headquarters by 4 pm today [Tuesday, February 15, 2022] to assist the investigation, in failure of which he will be arrested’.
Police added in the statement that ‘The public will be updated in due course’.
