Accra Hearts of Oak beat their arch-rivals rivals Asante Kotoko 2-1 on Friday, March 4 to be crowned champions of the 2022 President’s Cup played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The match between the two giant teams were played under floodlight for the first time in 20 years.
The Phobians soccered first which was later equalised by Kotoko, the Porcupine Warriors in the second half of the match.
Hearts of Oak put another goal at back of the net of Kotoko a few minutes to the end of the tough game.
Some Kotoko players were seen weeping on the pitch after the referee blew the final whistle.
Until this game, Kotoko had won the trophy on six occasions, two more than Hearts of Oak but the latter have obviously closed in the gap with their latest win.
