Some time ago, the Ghanaian media published an intriguing story of a top official of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) who allegedly caused the arrest of a customer for sending him insulting text messages anytime the lights go off in his area or any of his relatives and friends experience dumsor in their neighbourhood.
The frustrated manager is said to have informed the police that he blocked this person but he continued to send him vulgɑr messages through different phone numbers.
According to him, ‘…Almost each time, he sends the same text message from a different number to me. This citizen keeps texting me ‘Wo Maame TwƐ‘ for taking my light’.
Another ECG boss with the parody Twitter account AMANFO) ECG has decided to buy a new car (Range Over) for his girlfriend as birthday gift but with company money.
He announced in a post sighted by Kasatintin.com that ‘My girlfriend says she wants a new Range Rover as a birthday gift, Kasoa, Amasaman, New Town, Korle gorno, Ashaiman, we are selling your transformers to make her dream come true….Your dumsor our happiness ????’.
One social media user suggested to him to also sell the new transformer at Airport Residential Area to raise more cash to make his lover happy.
‘Airport residential get new Transformers ooo. If you sell you go get better money oo, Anaa mabordam’.
The ECG boss responded ‘Thanks for information, but do wild and find us buyer, ugo get your 35% share’.
He threatened to disconnect the lights of anybody who will speak against his decision to use ECG money to buy a Range Rover for his girlfriend.
‘Trying to tell the ECG what to do can make we come your house nd disconnect our cables from your house…’, he warned.
