Bolt Drivers Are On Strike–Here Are Their Concerns (Video)


Bolt drivers in Koforidua have declared a two-day strike over poor condition of service.

The strike action which begun on Sunday, March 6 is bitting hard on passengers who rely on the online taxi service for their daily activities in the Eastern part of Ghana.

Kasatintin News can report that passengers are unable to access drivers on the Bolt App.

It is happening at a time people from all walks of life have arrived in the Eastern Region to partake in the one week observation of the death of Daasebre Oti Boateng, Omanhene of New Juaben and his Queen Nana Yaa Daani.

The Bolt drivers are demanding an upward adjustment of the base fare for long distance pickups in times of high fuel prices.

They also want the Bolt Management to put in place a fair and transparent system to determine commissions and earnings of driver on the Bolt App.


The striking drivers said they have been cheated for a long time and Management have refused to listen to their several pleas.

Leadership of the Bolt Drivers Association in Koforidua have resolved to be on strike until their concerns are addressed.
