BBC’s Peter Okwoche interviews the President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo today, Monday April 4, 2022.

The interview will be aired on the Focus on Africa programme.

Peter Okwoche twittered ‘I speak to the President of #Ghana @NAkufoAddo. We talk about the economy, the new e-levy, tourism, and of course his country triumphing over regional rivals #Nigeria to qualify for the @FIFAWorldCup #Qatar2022. Join us’.

Ahead of the BBC interview, some Ghanaians sent in hard questions to the presenter to which they expected him to ask President Akufo-Addo.

One netizen posted ‘Kindly ask him why he flies in an $18,000 an hour flight when debt to GDP in his country is 80%. Ask him why he chose to fly in a commercial flight only when he wanted to pass the E-levy but has gone back to living like an Arabian King even when his economy is hanging on E-levy’.

‘Another said ‘Ask him about what he has don’t for the victims of tidal waves disaster that affected the Ketu South District, in November 2021 and as the people have lost their livelihoods to the sea once more, what is he doing to alleviate their plight?’
