Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah says Ghanaians will soon realise the benefits of the E-levy through the introduction of a business support module for the private sector.
The Minister told TV3 that the soon-to-be rolled out policy will address the unemployment situation in the country.
Government hope to create some one million jobs for the youth through the E-levy proceed, the lawmaker revealed in the media interview.
The E-levy became operational on Sunday May 1,2022 despite stiff opposition from the minority NDC.and majority of the public.
Mr John Kumah said as the E-levy has been passed and successfully implemented, ‘the next big move is for government to address the lack of job situation for the young people. And so, in the next month ahead, His Excellency the president will launch the YouStart programme.
He explained that ‘The YouStart programme is a 10-billion facility in the next three years that government is aiming at creating one million jobs in the private sector by encouraging young people in the areas of creativity, innovations and helping them to determine their own future’.
