The mortal remains of Christian Atsu has arrived in Ghana via Turkish national airline, Kasatintin.com can report.
The 31-year-old Ghanaian player who played for Newcastle and Chelsea was striked dead by a devastating earthquake which rocked Turkey some weeks ago.
Atsu’s body was found after 12 days under the rubble.
‘The elder brother and twin sister of Christian Atsu and an Officer of the Embassy were present at the site when the body was recovered’, an earlier press statement released by Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said.
It added ‘The Embassy is currently making the necessary arrangements with the assistance of the Government of Türkiye to have the body transported to Ghana for burial’.
UK’s popular newspaper, The Sun confirmed that Christian Atsu’s body was flown back to his Ghana hours after rescuers found his body.
