A Gambian pastor only identified as Abraham has been declared wanted for scamming hundreds of people who attended his crusade in Nigeria.
Pastor Abraham has been accused of running away with 52 mobile phones, money and other valuable items belonging to the worshippers who participated in his ‘staged’ crusade.
He is said to have organised a 3-day crusade at Aponrin in the Agbowo neighbourhood, claiming that God had sent him from the Gambia to Ibadan, Oyo State to evangelise and deliver people from their troubles.
Pastor Abraham declared fasting and prayers for the victims during the 3-day programme but he disappeared on the last day of the crusade.
More on his tricks
The self-acclaimed man of God informed the congregation that the Holy Spirit had instructed him to tell everyone in attendance to leave their phones, cash, and other valuables with him before the last day of the crusade.
One victim, a student of the University of Ibadan revealed that Pastor Abraham collected their phones ‘so as to keep it away from them and focus on the prayers. Unknowingly, it was a trick to get our belongings’.
