Man Shoots Girlfriend For Demanding ‘Chop Money’ Increment

A 38-year-old farmer identified as Otwea Amokua (real name Kwame Asamoah) has shot his girlfriend for bothering him with housekeeping money (Chop money).

The tragic incident happened at Breman Nkonya near Breman Asikuma in the Central Region.

The victim, Nkrumah, 45 has for some time now been complaining about how small her ‘chop money’ is but Otwea Amokua has failed to increase the amount.

Following a misunderstanding, the suspect allegedly bought a double barrel gun on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 and threatened to use it to kill his girlfriend and six other tenants who have been disturbing him with ‘chop money’ increment.

Otwea Amokua stormed the victim’s house on Tuesday evening and shot her, leaving her in a pool of blood and fled the scene.

Nkrumah is said to be in critical condition and receiving medical attention at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile, Breman Asikuma Police have mounted a search for the suspect who is on the run.
