Incredible! A government food inspector in India accidentally dropped his brand new smartphone worth $1,200 in a dam while taking selfie.
Rajesh Vishwas was on a picnic with his friends when his Samsung S23 Ultra phone slipped into the dam,10 feet deep.
He contracted some local villagers who were good swimmers to search for the phone. They couldn’t find the device after two days of searching.
To retrieve his phone, Rajesh Vishwas ordered the entire dam with millions of litres of water to be drained. It took three days to empty the Kherkatta Dam located in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh.
Mr. Vishwas,32 years, eventually found his Samsung S23 Ultra phone but it was soaked with heavy water.
He said the phone had sensitive government data which needed saving. Despite his good intentions, he has been suspended for ‘misusing his position’.
