Greek police have arrested a priest who rubbed holy oil on the private part of an Estonian holidaymaker.
The tourist, 30 had an encounter with the Orthodox priest, 49, when he visited a monastery on the island of Rhodes with his girlfriend a week ago.
Monasteries in Greece are open to the public and make money through selling honey, reproduced religious icons, postcards and other souvenirs.
According to report, the Estonian tourist bought a crucifix but forgot to take the item before leaving.
When he returned the next morning to pick it, the priest invited him into a small reception room in the monastery ‘in order to give him a special gift’.
The tourist followed the instructions and the cleric asked him to pull down his trousers and underpants so that he could ‘anoint’ him. He then massaged the man’s private part with holy oil.
