Rumours on social media for the past few days suggest that former president John Agyekum Kufuor has passed away.
But latest statement from the Office of the ex-president categorically denies such claims and asserts that Kufuor, 84 is alive and in good health. It further warned the general public to desist from spreading such bad news about ex-president Kufuor.
President Kufuor served as the President of Ghana from 2001 to 2009.
On November 14, 2007, he survived a tragic motor accident at the Opeibea House traffic light intersection in Accra.
Kufuor was on his way to the Castle, seat of government when a man identified as Thomas Osei crashed his private car into Kufuor’s vehicle.
Thomas was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol. On further investigations, traces of narcotics were found in his urine.
