Two Househelps Hot For Stealing $1M, €300K And Millions Of Cedis From The Home Of Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah

 

Two househelps are before a high court for allegedly stealing monies (US$1 million and €300,000) and valuable items worth millions of Ghana cedis from the home of Cecilia Dapaah, Sanitation Minister.

The accused persons, Patience Botwe, 18 and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei allegedly carried out the act between July and October 2022 at the Minister’s home in Abelemkpe, a suburb of Accra, in the Greater Accra region.

Patience (A1) and Sarah (A2) have been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing US$1 million, €300,000 and millions of Ghana cedis.

It is alleged that between July and October, 2022, the accused persons also stole personal effects of Cecilia Dapaah and her husband, which included assorted clothes valued at GH¢95,000, handbags, perfumes, jewelleries estimated at the cost of US$95,000, six pieces of Kente cloth worth GH¢90,000 and six sets of men’s suits valued at US$3,000.

Further charges have been brought against the father, former and current boyfriends of A1 for receiving stolen cash and items.

Benjamin, a plumber (A3) has been charged with dishonestly receiving GH¢180,000 whereas Kweku Botwe (A4), a trader has been charged with receiving GH¢50,000. Malik Dauda (A5), who is currently unemployed, has been charged with receiving GH¢1million.
