The General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil is charging between $100,000 and $800,000 for special prayers at this year’s Greater Works Conference.
These prayer consultation fees when converted to local currency amount to approximately GHC 1million and GHC 9million.
Ghanaian blogger Bongo Ideas has slammed Pastor Otabil over the charges and further alleged that the man of God is forcing the fee on church members to fund the excessive lifestyle of top pastors and also to make him feel good.
Bongo Ideas made the claim in a tweet saying ‘Pastor Mensa Otabil is charging $100K-$800K for special prayers at his Greater Works Conference & they’re paying!
‘Each year, congregants at the Greater Works Conference are spiritually coerced to sow special seeds for God, which are usually charged in dollars’.
He added ‘These exorbitant charges or offerings are solicited from the churchgoers by the top regular pastors, who are hosted at plush hotels before and during the conference.
These atrocious monies are collected in order to pay these invited pastors, foot the logistical bills, and make the leader of the mega-church feel so good’.
Bongo asserted that ‘ICGC is one of the richest churches in Ghana, with Pastor Mensa Otabil doubling as the richest pastor in Ghana. These unspiritual achievements are made possible through the throat-cutting monies collected on a regular basis from the attendees’. Click here to read full tweet. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
