A 38-year-old teacher from Apaaso in the Sekyedumase of Ejura Sekyedumase Municipality has committed suicide, reports claim.
The deceased, Ernest Atta-Kyei was the headteacher of Apaaso Basic School and previously the assistant headmaster of Sekyedumase SDA Basic School.
Ernest hanged himself on a bar in his room with a sponge. He was found dead at about 9pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
The headteacher is believed to have taken poison.
Ernest was preparing for his wedding in four days time.
Information suggest that, before his demise, the deceased told his friends that he was worried because the little money (GHC 7,000) he had struggled to raise for his wedding had gone missing.
He left a suicide note which read ‘I can no longer live on this earth any longer. Don’t blame anyone. Take care of my son for me, this is my father’s number’.
