Ghana experienced an abrupt nationwide power outage on Friday,September 8,2023 at 7pm.
Guess what, the Jubilee House, the seat of government was also allegedly affected and remained in total darkness for some time during the blackout, locally referred to as ‘Dumsor’.
A photo of the Jubilee House in absolute darkness has emerged on social media and generated heated debate online.
‘This is so shameful. Why did they allow this to happen at the Jubilee House. Didn’t they have a genetrator?’, one social media quizzed.
Meanwhile,the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has attributed the cause of the nationwide outage in Ghana on Friday to a disturbance in its system.
GRIDCo stated that restoration efforts commenced immediately and that three-quarters of customers received power supply by 8pm.
