Nigerian rapper Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba known professionally as MohBad has passed away at age 27.
The rising Afrobeats star was confirmed dead a few minutes ago but cause of his death is unknown.
Reports said MohBad became depressed and tried committing suicide in January following the end of his contract with Marlian Music owned by popular artiste, Naira Marley.
Colleague singer Bella Shmurda revealed that ‘I and Mohbad were in an apartment when he suddenly said he felt like jumping from the floor we were on, downstairs all because of the issues he was having with his label’.
MohBad will be missed for his unique baritone voice and beautiful songs like ‘Ask About Me’, ‘Pariwo’ and ‘KPK’ (Ko Por Ke).
It is believed that some industry people ‘hated’ him because he had gained recognition and was gradually taking over the Nigerian music scene.
