More than a dozen irate youth of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday, October 7,2023 stormed the studios of UTV and disrupted the live broadcast of their award winning entertainment show, United Showbiz.
Leader of the NPP thugs shamelessly justified the invasion of the media house claiming that, the United Showbiz, originally meant to be an entertainment programme has been turned into a political show.
The group alleged that A-Plus, one of the pundits of the show has used the platform to attack the personality of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, hence they demanded an NPP representative on the show.
Entertainment journalist Olele Salvador revealed shocking details of how the NPP hooligans staged the surprise attack on UTV.
He said ‘If anyone knows ship house- the home of Despite Media, you know getting access into their studios ain’t easy.
It’s at best a zigzag of an access; you need to really know your way around before you get in.
My source tells me most of the key personnel including the Head of Security for UTV are currently at an after party of the ‘Special Ice Wedding’ happening at Kempinski.
