President Nana Addo kufo-Addo and his former trade and industry minister, Alan Kyerematen reportedly snubbed each other at the funeral grounds of the late wife of ex-president John Agyekum Kufuor.
The one-week celebration of the late Theresa Kufuor took place at Kufuor’s residence in Peduase in the Eastern Region on Wednesday, October 11,2023.
Several dignitaries including ministers of state and party members were present to commiserate with the family.
Vice president, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia and Mr. Kyerematen hugged and exchanged pleasantries at the funeral ceremony.
Interestingly, President Akufo-Addo and Alan, who appear not to be in talking terms, made an obvious statement with their posture by failing to acknowledge the presence of each other at the ceremony.
‘President Akufo-Addo and Alan Kyeremanten are both leaving Theresa Kufuor’s one-week observation ceremony without exchanging pleasantries’, Angel TV journalist, Nana Yaa Brefo said in a live report from the funeral grounds right after her interview with Alan Kyeremanten.
Akufo-Addo probably snubbed Alan owing to his latest decision to quit the NPP and run as an independent presidential candidate ahead of the 2024 elections, some people have suggested.
Meanwhile, Prof. Mike Oquaye, a leading member of the NPP has hinted that the party will re-engage the former trade and industry minister for him to re-join the NPP.
Prof. Oquaye said Alan Cash ‘is a fine gentleman. I am sorry we don’t have him today. But like the majority leader said, we will need to engage him because politics is a game of numbers. And he is a man of excellence. The party will engage him in all possible ways’. CLICK ON LINK to watch video.SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
