Samira Bawumia, the wife of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been involved in a tragic road accident which has claimed the life of her personal bodyguard.
The accident happened at Ohene-Nkwanta near Nobewam in the Ashanti Region at 1.00pm on Saturday, January 14.
Mrs Bawumia and her entourage were on an official assignment when they met the terrible incident. She miraculously escaped the incident but her bodyguard named Fuseini Mumuni died on the spot.
Fuseini has been buried on Sunday at Madina in Accra in line with Islamic custom.
According to the Daily Guide, ‘The unfortunate incident took place during Mrs. Bawumia’s journey to the Ashanti Region, when a sprinter bus narrowly collided with her convoy. Tragically, after the near miss, the same sprinter bus went on to collide with two cars further down the road’.
