President Nana Akufo-Addo has sacked 24 Municipal, Metropolitan and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) with immediate effect.
The President gave no hard reasons for kicking the 24 MMDCEs out office but stated in a letter dated Friday, February 2, 2024 that his decision is in line with Article 243 (3) b of the Constitution and section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Government Act, 2014, (Act 936).
The MMDCEs who have been relieved of their position include Daniel Owuredu of Nkoranza North, Elizabeth Kaaki Mann of Ga East, Patrick Kumor of Weija-Gbawe, Alhaji Abdulai Adams of Pru East , Comfort Asante, New Juaben North and Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah of Nzema East.
The President has effectively announced their replacement in a separate cover letter.
