Sharing a controversial video, blogger EdHub wrote ‘President Akufo-Addo angrily shouts Chiefs to stand up immediately before he would shake hands with them at the late Alhaji Rashid Bawa’s funeral at Kadjebi in the Oti Region’.
Another blogger, SikaOfficial stated that ‘President Akufo-Addo was captured gesticulating to some chiefs to stand up before he shakes hands with them, during the funeral of the late Alhaji Rashid Bawa at Kadjebi in the Oti Region’.
This is about the second time the President has been in the news for clashing with traditional leaders.
During the 2023 edition of the Green Ghana Day Celebration, which was organized at the University of Ghana, the President Akufo-Addo was seen in a video angrily directing the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, to order the Chief of Mempeasem, Nii Torgbor Obodai Ampaw VI to stand up and observe the National Anthem.
The chief was seated while the National Anthem was being observed by other Ghanaians. His action infuriated the President.Click on this link to watch video.
