The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has been criticized by a section of the public for openly declaring that he is a a staunch member of secret society, Freemasonry or lodge.
Clearly a lot of people have preconceived misconceptions about Freemasons, with some often referring to them as occults.
To clear people’s doubt about the society, and defend the essence of Otumfuo’s relationship with the religious community for the past 25years, Asante Nation, a blog on the X platform shared a video in which members of the group were heard singing Christian hymns at a grand meeting in Kumasi.
The blog wrote;
‘I thought growing up we were told Freemasons is a satanic occultic group who do rituals so why are they singing Christian hymnals in their meeting?
I thought Ghanaians said it’s a secret society so why did they allow the media to capture their event last Saturday?
So even said before you become a member you submit your body parts (fingernails, ears, etc) for sacrifice before you are accepted, yet I haven’t seen any missing body parts among their members….or?’.
