Richard Ahiagbah, a communication team member of the governing NPP has pledged to do whatever he can to improve the healthcare system in the country.
Ahigbah has been on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi for nearly a month after he was involved in a tragic accident while driving from Kumasi to Accra.
In his latest post on the X social media platform, he wrote ‘I am out of the hospital today with a few more knots to untie, but I am back on my feet again’.
Richard Ahiagbah praised the medical staff at KATH for saving him but noted that Ghanaians truly deserve better healthcare system after witnessing the helpless conditions at the hospital.
He said ‘Fighting to hold on to dear life at KATH has been very frightening and painful. But through it all, I have learned firsthand the extreme deficiencies and prospects of Ghana’s healthcare delivery system. From this experience will arise a Turning Point Foundation to promote a people-centered, outcome-driven health policy regime in Ghana’.
Responding to Ahiagbah’s post, controversial blogger Bongo Ideas said ‘Nature has a way of teaching us bitter lessons about life. This experience should awaken you to the realities of life and stop you from trivializing the plights of Ghanaians who face similar circumstances daily. Practice people-centered politics henceforth’.
