Natural vegetation, farmlands and river bodies in Ghana have been destroyed through Galamsey. The consequence of the illegal mining is dire but little is being done to save the situation.

Experts warn that it will take nearly 50years to restore the environment degradation owing to illegal mining. Ghana more likely to import in the next few years, other experts say.
