The Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has declared a nationwide strike, starting Friday, September 27,2024.
In an official statement, TUSAAG expressed their disappointment over government’s continued disregard for agreements made in July 2024 following a directive from the Ministry of Finance in May 2024.
The Association said ‘The government has engaged in systemic discrimination against TUSAAG regarding the payment of common allowances, favouring other unions of the same class of workers in public universities. TUSAAG is unable to tolerate working conditions that undermine the principles of fairness and equity.
‘Consequently, and effective tomorrow [Friday], TUSAAG will withdraw all services across all technical universities in Ghana until our demands are met ie;
1.Payment of the agreed-upon rates for vehicle maintenance, off-campus allowances, fuel, utility, and sanitation/security allowances without further delay.
2.A formal acknowledgment of grievances and a commitment to uphold the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)’. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
