The ex-husband of Ghanaian gospel singer Obaapa Christy has been jailed four years.
It has emerged that one Samuel Amankwah dragged Pastor Love to court for selling his car, Toyata Highlander without his consent. He shipped the vehicle into the country in 2016.
Amankwah (the complainant) who was then living outside the country asked Pastor Love to clear the car at the port and sell it at $50,000.00 and also deduct his personal funds he used to pay the duty for clearing the Toyota Highlander.
Along the line, Amankwah changed his mind and informed Pastor Love to hold on the sale of the vehicle ‘because he was scheduled to be in Ghana in April 2017 so he could pay Pastor Love the money for clearing the car’.
‘When Pastor Love was arrested for failing to produce the car, he explained that, he secured a loan of GHC 40,000.00 with 20% interest to clear the car.
‘He said the loan was accruing more interest so he sold the car without the consent of the Amankwah at GHC 80,000 and gave GHC 70,000.00 to the loan company. He, however, could not lead Police to the said loan company and was unable to show Police the person who bought the car’, the website stated.
In court today, it was found that, the complainant owns the car but Pastor Love sold it without his consent; he was therefore handed 48 months jail term with hard labour for stealing. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
