NPP Jubilates As New Polls Predict 50.2% Win For Bawumia In December 7 Presidential Elections

Ghanaians go to the polls on Saturday, December 7,2024.The election is just 8days away.

The Institute of Progressive Governance (IPG) has predicted a first-round victory for Dr Mahumudu Bawumia in the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The IPG projects that Dr Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government will likely secure 50.2% of the valid votes to be declared the new President of the Republic of Ghana.

According to the latest survey by IPG, John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will place second with 47.3% votes whereas the remaining 11 candidates will secure 2.5% of the valid votes to be cast.

The institute’s projection is based on a survey it conducted ahead of the general elections, with a sample size of twenty-nine thousand twenty-nine (29,029).

IPG indicated that it employed the multi-stage technique covering all 276 constituencies in the country for the survey. Five electoral areas (EAs) were selected based on probability sampling from all 276 constituencies.

Meanwhile, some NPP supporters have jumped on social media platforms to celebrate the IPG election projections for Bawumia.
