The owner of a renowned private school in the Eastern Region has been shot dead by unknown assailants on Friday, August 27, 2021.
Frederick Kwaku Ohene Gyan, aged 35, was allegedly killed while entering his room around 10 pm.
The deceased has been identified as the proprietor of Bright Star International School at Kwamekrom. Frederick also owned the Bright Stars Football Academy located at Pokrom in the Akuapem South District.
An eyewitness said she heard the deceased screaming for help, so she went to his aid and found him crawling in a pool of blood.
Police said it quickly moved to the scene upon receipt of the news.
‘The team proceeded to the scene of crime on enquiries. Instant investigations at the scene revealed an empty pistol shell at the back of the house. There were blood stains from the entrance of the house to the sitting room’, the Aburi District Police Command stated in a release on Sunday.
‘The door leading to the sitting room was seen forcibly damaged from outside and the sitting room where the victim is believed to have been attacked, had a pool of blood and substance suspected to be vomit.
A Smith & Wesson pistol, an empty magazine disengaged from its chamber and an Apple phone were seen in the pool of blood as well as a pair of trousers. Inspection of the hall and other adjourning rooms did not show any sign of disturbance’.
Frederick Kwaku Ohene Gyan was rushed to the Nsawam Government Hospital and was pronounced dead a few hours later.
His body has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
