A bizarre incident has rocked Agric Afaseibon community, a suburb of Kumasi, on Monday, September 29, 2025.
A woman in her late 50s, believed to be a witch, was found stuck on an avocado tree in a residential house. The unusual situation unfolded at 4:00 am, leaving many to wonder how she ended up in such an awkward position.
Residents claim they initially heard cries that sounded like those of a wild bird coming from the compound where the tree stood. It wasn’t until the landlord’s dogs started barking that the commotion caught his attention. Upon investigating the noise, he was shocked to find the woman perched on the avocado tree, shivering in the rain.
As news of the woman’s predicament spread, a crowd quickly gathered at the scene. Some residents, visibly agitated, stood at the entrance of the house, while others took it upon themselves to rescue her. Using a ladder, the woman was carefully helped down from the tree.
The police were eventually called to the scene, and they arrived swiftly to take control of the situation. To shield the woman from the agitated crowd, the police covered her face and took her away in a pickup truck. The swift action by the authorities likely prevented any further escalation, but the incident has left many questions unanswered.
