The Akim Oda Divisional Police Command has arrested Prophet Akoa Isaac, the founder and leader of the Church of Prosperity.
Prophet Isaac is being interrogated by the police following the tragic incident which happened on his church premises on Tuesday afternoon.
Over 60 worshippers of the Church of Prosperity, located at Akyem Batabi in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region got trapped when the church building collapsed on them during service.
Nine people have been confirmed dead in the disaster.
‘Voices of those trapped inside could be heard with some screaming for help’, the Daily Graphic stated on Tuesday, but those voices were no longer heard on Wednesday.
Kasatintin.com earlier broke the story and reported that the church members had gathered under the uncompleted 3-storey building on Tuesday to fast and pray for Prophet Isaac who is said to be suffering from an undisclosed illness.
An eye witness claimed that during the prayers, a mysterious snake, in fact a huge one emerged from the ground floor of the church and they drew the attention of the men around to kill it.

The true cause of the incident is yet to be established. Information suggests that the collapsed structure has been under construction for the past 28 years.
